I used to think feeling mentally tired by 3 PM was just part of being a working professional.
Back-to-back meetings. Constant notifications. Sleeping late but still waking up early. Somehow we’ve normalized running on low battery.
A few weeks ago, during a particularly overwhelming project sprint, I started using mindful-breathe-sleep-calm (https://apps.apple.com/in/app/mindful-breathe-sleep-calm/id1489689443). Not in a dramatic “life-changing” way. Just small moments.
Five minutes of guided breathing before a client presentation. A short sleep story instead of scrolling at midnight. A two-minute reset between meetings.
Nothing extreme happened. I just felt… steadier.
More in control of my reactions. Less mentally noisy. More consistent with my energy.
As professionals, we optimize our calendars, emails, and KPIs. But how often do we optimize our mental state?
Maybe calm isn’t something we find. Maybe it’s something we practice.
