A small thing I noticed during campus placement season.
Students spend weeks preparing for interviews.
Aptitude tests, mock interviews, group discussions, company research — the preparation is serious and thoughtful.
But when it comes to the resume, something strange happens.
Most people leave it for the night before.
You hear the same conversations everywhere:
“Template Google par mali jashe.”
“Font change kari didho to resume professional lage.”
“Bas ek page ma fit thai javu joie.”
It’s interesting how something that represents your entire career story often becomes a last-minute document.
A resume is technically just a page.
But in reality, it’s the first way someone understands your work, your thinking, and your journey.
Last week a junior from my college was updating his CV for campus applications. Instead of editing an old Word file again, he showed me an app he had been using — Resume Builder – ATS CV Maker.

What I found interesting wasn’t the tool itself, but how people were using it.
One friend used it to properly structure his internship experience instead of writing long paragraphs.

Someone else simply used it to reorganize an old CV before exploring a job switch.
Nothing dramatic happened.
No overnight job offers.
Just something quieter — clarity.
When your resume has a clear structure, it becomes easier for someone to understand what you’ve done and what you’re capable of doing next.
Sometimes the hardest part of a career isn’t the work itself.
It’s explaining that work in a way that others can quickly understand.
And maybe that’s why a resume matters more than we think.
Not because it guarantees opportunities — but because it shapes the first impression of how you present your own story.
